Star of morning, star of radiance,
He who was the mightiest one
Of angels,
Lucifer, bringing light in dark.
He who soared so high
Fell so low
Pride was the sin of him:
I shan't give my earth up to
mortals!
I am Lucifer, the greatest seed of
thee!
I shan't bow down before Adam, son
of earth!
And the Voice from
on high might have said therefore:
This being is weaker than thee,
weaker and mortal
but its soul lasts unmortal
and shall rejoin Me in my
Glory, when the time ends.
Thou ought not to have broken my
trust in thee, o star-winged spirit.
Thou SHALL be stricken down, down
to the everlasting fire.
And like a swift lightening or a fallen star,
Lord of Morning, called Satan since then,
Has descended from on high
and long was the downfall o' that angel-prince.
Great and overwhelming was his despair, as
for the cruelest punishment had he lack of God
And His wonderful, life-giving presence
Existance of Satan is like a continuous agony
For no more shall he see his feared-beloved Lord.
Like a sinker with his lungs full of water desires a breath,
thus the angel lacks the Almighty Spirit.
His being is filled with tears
His heart, though stone, still remembers glory of the Gracious.
Struck down from heaven, beyond redress, his curse was to be here and
pull the souls away from their Creator.
He dared to look into the eyes of the Son of man, and tried to tempt Him.
But the infinite Love didn't need to surrender, and he had to go
away, beaten.
Later his name was widely known
Between the sons of Adam
They feared him and fought him back with crucifix and prayer
And the stakes that burnt.
Step back, evil
spirit, were they saying,
And his power was being resisted
But the world is altering.
Who remembers now the old fables?
Who listens to some excentric speeches of a priest?
Who knows now and understands properly
The verses on the borning Beast?
There's no devil! - claim some men
Then
His path is getting easier.
His path is getting easier.
